Cable Conversion Service
Our Cable Conversion Service includes the following options which are offered to provide a fast and cost effective service to Cable Distributors, Electrical Wholesalers and End Users, by converting either their stock items or by Leigh Cables sourcing items on their behalf.
- Oversheath in different colours of the same type of compound
- Oversheath in different colours of a different type of compound
- Remove the existing sheath and replace with the same type of compound in a different colour.
- Remove the existing sheath and replace with a different type of compound
- Convert an unarmoured cable into an armoured cable by applying armour (braid or helical single wires) plus an oversheath.
Cable Components
We also provide a fast and cost effective option to other cable manufacturers who wish to source components.
Components include, but are not restricted to the following:
- Flexible and Stranded conductors
- Mica or PET Taped conductors
- Insulated Conductors
- Pairs/Triples/Quads, unscreened or tape/braid screened
Custom Designed and Composite Cables
Not only do we manufacture cables to customers own designs or requirements, we can also manufacture composite cables which consist of separate individual cables combined into a single cable unit. For example, as required, combinations of -

Cable Manufacture to International Standards
This service has been established recently, following the expansion of our process capability, to produce cables from first principles, and has proved particularly useful where short lead times are required.
- Cables to National, European and International Standards in unarmoured or armoured configurations with up to 1.5mm conductors and 48 cores
- Larger conductor sizes can be provided with lower core count
